After the rest of the grapes have been picked during the main grape harvest season, we keep a few vines on just a little longer to make our late harvest wine. Naturally, dehydrated on the vine to an almost raisin-like state, concentrating the sugar, resulting in an intensity of the grape flavour. As the grapes mature and break down, they are then hand-picked over several weeks to ensure they are harvested at the perfect time. The entire process translates to sweet, complex dessert wine, with a balanced nuance of dryness and fermentation. Bench 1775 products include an extensive portfolio of late harvest wines which are sold through two brands: “Paradise Ranch” and “Whistler,” with an extensive selection of varieties. This includes late harvest wines from Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Merlot grapes and more. All Bench 1775 products carry Canada’s Vintners Quality Alliance (VQA) seal of approval. Our Late Harvest wine is the perfect way to end a wonderful meal but also makes a lovely aperitif to start a dinner party.
