2022 All Canadian Wine Championships
We are overjoyed to share with you that we brought home 7 medals from the 2022 All Canadian Wine Championships: 1 Double Gold, 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze.
All Canadian Wine Championships is one of the most esteemed wine competitions in Canada. Established in 1981, the competition has followed the progress of our country’s wine industry from its infancy to where it stands today. Wines are critiqued by a panel of sommeliers, wine educators and writers across Canada. We are extremely proud to have been awarded 7 medals this year and would like to extend a big thank you to our team, club members, and customers who’ve been supporting us for the past 25 years!
The 2021 Viognier was produced from 100% Naramata fruit. Our estate Viognier harvested from right in front of our wineshop/patio and our Uplands vineyard on Upper bench road. The wine can be described as fresh and crisp with concentrated stone fruit characters, light floral notes with hints of honey and spice.
2021 Glow Rosé — Gold
The 2021 edition of Glow is a blend of 70% Zweigelt from our Keremeos Vineyard and 30% Pinot Noir from our Naramata Vineyard. Enjoy this dry Rosé on sunny days with your favourite foods.
2020 Paradise Ranch Chardonnay Icewine — Gold
Harvested from our Partridge Vineyard in Naramata, the fruit was picked in the middle of the night in -15 degree temperatures. The Chardonnay left out in these cold conditions was in surprisingly good shape for being left to hang for so long. The wine produced displays tropical notes as well as mango, peaches, apricots, and honey.
2020 Blanc de Blanc Ancestral — Silver
Méthode Ancestral sparkling wine made from 100% Chardonnay. This pétillant naturel (natural wine) was aged sur lie for 10 months before being disgorged. Enjoy this wine with Kusshi or Kumamoto Oysters, vegan sushi, and brunch dishes such as, asparagus with poached eggs and Hollandaise.
2020 Whistler Viognier Icewine — Silver
Produced from 100% Naramata fruit, this Viognier was harvested in February of 2021. The fruit, after pressing, showed intense flavors due to dehydration from hanging in the elements for so long. There was no water left in the berries to freeze. Therefore, every golden drop that was pressed out was precious. Floral, perfume, caramel and baking spice notes make this wine a crowd pleaser.
2018 Merlot — Bronze
Merlot has always been a staple of the Okanagan wine industry due to its ability to ripen and its versatility to stand on its own or to be a valuable blending component. Enjoy this Merlot with grilled mushroom dishes, tomato sauce-based pastas and a vegan chocolate chip cookie.
2018 Syrah — Bronze
Our Syrah is grown in one of our celebrated Osoyoos vineyards. Refined and balanced flavours with notes of white pepper and ripe fruits, this wine is great alone or paired with roast meats, especially lamb.
