White Meritage is a classic Bordeaux-inspired blend of 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Semillon. The fruit for this wine was sourced from the Bench 1775 Estate Vineyard, along with another of our vineyards on the Naramata Bench. A portion of the wine was aged for 14 months in 40% new French oak, adding subtle depth and texture.
Fresh and vibrant, the nose opens with grapefruit rind and herbaceous notes, followed by pineapple, citrus, vanilla, and lemon curd. The palate is medium-bodied with a soft, rounded mid-palate, showing flavours of lime, guava, and passionfruit, complemented by gentle vanilla toast.
Pair with oysters, spot prawns, moules frites, pork tenderloin, asparagus risotto, sushi, or an arugula salad with lemon and parmesan.
