The 2022 vintage will be remembered for the unusually early cold snap in late November. Our Gewürztraminer vineyard in Summerland was harvested on December 2nd, with temperatures dipping to -12°C. The juice measured 43 Brix after pressing, with excellent yields (300 L/ton), thanks to the early harvest date which minimized shriveling.
Fermentation lasted three weeks before being halted at 11.0% alcohol. This wine offers intense aromas of honey, citrus, and delicate floral notes, with hints of lychee and rose water.
Pair this aromatic wine with richly salted dishes like chicken liver mousse or foie gras, or enjoy it alongside desserts such as French vanilla ice cream or a fruity galette.
