This non-traditional blend of Cabernet Franc and malbec was produced with fruit sourced from east facing vineyards in Osoyoos. Cabernet franc ripens well in the Okanagan Valley, but Malbec can be far more demanding to reach phenolic ripeness in many vineyards. Fortunately, the 2017 Cabernet Franc Malbec begins with ripe characteristics of plum, cassis, blueberry, mint, herbs and floral notes. The palate is ripe with dark fruit characters, moderate acidity, soft medium/full bodied wine followed by firm tannins, age in 30% new French oak for 17 months.
Pair this wine with, grilled meats, Peking duck, lamb tagine, Vegan Chili, roasted Romanesco, feta, goat cheese, goulda and machego.
