The 2016 Bench 1775 Syrah was co-fermented with 1.6% Viognier and was harvested from our vineyard in Osoyoos. The 2016 Syrah has a savory, meaty, dark fruit nose with hints of olives, white pepper and coffee. The palate is a fine expression of South Okanagan fruit with characters of savory dark cherry, blueberry and light herbal. The wine was aged in 30% new French oak for 10 months.
Pair this savory Syrah with roast leg of lamb, Ratatouille, Osso Bucco, Veggie burgers, grilled eggplant and hard cheeses like aged Goulda.
