Icewines
When the crisp winter breezes come down from the mountains onto the vineyard, it is the perfect weather for maturing our icewine grapes! Icewine is a concentrated, sweet dessert wine produced from grapes frozen while still on the vine. All Bench 1775 wines carry Canada’s Vintners Quality Alliance (VQA) seal of approval. The grapes must be frozen, and the air temperature must be -8° C or lower at the time of harvest and pass through the BC VQA assessment can be marketed as BC VQA Icewine. Bench 1775 is one of the largest producers/exporters of ice wines from BC, Canada, and the “Paradise Ranch” and “Whistler” brands are well known as market leaders for both award-winning wines and distinctive packaging. We have red and white options ranging from our perfectly balanced Riesling icewine and lively fresh Viognier icewine to an elegant, bodied Pinot Noir icewine.
