On June 25, 2014, The British Columbia Newsroom published an article, "B.C.'s Agrifoods Reputation Grows Stronger In China." This article summarizes the sucessful trade mission of Agriculture Minister Norm Letnick and the B.C. delegation to China. "The trade mission featured a strong B.C. presence led by Letnick and representatives from the province’s blueberry, cherry and speciality meat industry. Led by Federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz, between June 13 and June 22, 2014, industry and government leaders from across Canada met with senior Chinese officials in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai."
Moreover, Minister of Agriculture Norm Letnick mentioned that "The trade mission provided us with an important opportunity to meet directly with Chinese officials and reinforce B.C.’s stellar reputation of producing high quality and trusted foods. It was a successful tour and B.C. looks forward to building on the momentum from our visit to China and continuing to increase on our already record-setting exports.” After visiting a Beijing wine shop, Mr. Letnick talked to an employee about B.C's quality ice wine and held two bottles of Paradise Ranch icewines.
We've just won more awards and accolades in the 2014 Lieutenant Governor’s Awards for Excellence in British Columbia Wines and the 2014 Los Angeles International Wine Competition!
Our 2013 BENCH 1775 Sauvignon Blanc was a FINALIST in the 2014 Lieutenant Governor’s Awards for Excellence in British Columbia Wines. With 436 entries, this was the largest competition to date. Of the wines submitted for tasting, the panel of expert judges chose only 55 to advance to the final evaluation. Our 2013 BENCH 1775 Sauvignon Blanc achieved this distinction! "The judging panel commented 'the standard of quality was very high this year. In part, that reflects two good vintages in 2012 and 2013, along with challenging vintages in 2010 and 2011 that quite a number of producers handled well. The high quality also reflects the ever more accomplished viticulture and winemaking throughout the industry.' "
Moreover, we have won more MEDALS at the Los Angeles International Wine Competition 2014! Our 2012 BENCH 1775 Pinot Noir won SILVER, 2012 BENCH 1775 Gewürztraminer and 2012 BENCH 1775 Groove won BRONZE!
